Residents can recycle metal food and beverage cans (including coffee cans, metal cookie tins, candy tins or biscuit tins) can be recycled in their blue carts and at community recycling depots. Place metal lids inside tin cans and fold the top closed. You don't have to remove the labels from your cans.
All ready-to-serve drink containers, including beverage cans can be returned
to a privately-operated bottle depot for a refund. To find the nearest bottle depot, visit albertadepot.ca.
If you live in an apartment, townhouse or other multi-family complex, metal food and beverage cans should be accepted in your building's recycling program.
As of November 1, 2016, we require businesses and organizations to recycle all the materials we do at home, plus scrap metal, clear plastic film (polyethylene) and wood. For more details, please view the recycling requirements for businesses and organizations.
