Consider donating old books to charity book sales. Used book stores may also be interested in purchasing your unwanted books.
Separate hard covers from the inside pages. The pages can be recycled in blue carts, in your building's recycling program or at community recycling depots. The cardboard covers and spines can also be recycled seperately from the pages.
No leather, canvas or plastic covers are accepted.
Community Recycling Depots
Starting November 1, 2016, businesses and organizations in Calgary are required to recycle paper and cardboard as part of The City's Waste Diversion Strategy.
Throw it out
Commercial vehicle loads of garbage containing any paper and cardboard is subject to the Designated Materials Rate at City landfills to encourage recycling instead.
