Rangeview Sanitary Trunk

A new sanitary trunk is being built in Rangeview and Ricardo Ranch ASP. Water Resources will connect the sanitary trunk to the existing Cranston Sanitary Chamber.

It will provide wastewater services needed to address the projected increase in flow from future development. This project ensures that we will continue to provide Calgarians with a high level of service as the city grows.

Construction of the new sanitary trunk is proposed for an undeveloped area, and will not interfere in the daily life of Cranston residents. In phase 1 of the project, we are constructing the gully crossing earth berm. The gully crossing involves the formation of a compacted land bridge (earth berm) to support the sanitary trunk pipe across the existing gully. The proposed pipeline will be crossing the ravine west of Deerfoot Trail SE.

Project Timeline

The first phase of construction will occur at the site of the existing sanitary chamber, located south of Cranston Ave SE. Construction is scheduled to begin on September 14, 2018 and be completed by mid-summer 2019. The heavy construction traffic will be completed by November 15, 2018.

The second phase of the project, the trunk expansion, is planned for an area that is not currently used by residents, and will not impact the community of Cranston.
