Overview

Over the past few years, we have been working towards becoming One City, One Voice through our common vision, purpose, values and brand. Now, we are working together as “One” for “Calgary”.

Better serving citizens, communities and customers and doing it in a way that is cohesive, collaborative and integrated is what being “One Calgary” is all about.

Part of this includes our shift to a service-based view of our multi-year plans and budgets for 2019-2022. This will make it easier for you to see how individual services are performing.

Together, we will deliver a comprehensive set of service plans and budgets that considers the citizen first, and contributes to making Calgary a great place to make a living, and a great place to make a life.

Three conversations, One Calgary

Three conversations, One Calgary is the framework of The City's Strategic Plan for 2019-2022. It's a way to demonstrate how delivering great services contributes back to Calgary's quality of life.

Service plans and budgets

The City is moving from department-based plans and budgets to service-based plans and budgets. This will make it easier for Council to assess a service and make more informed investment decisions.

What Council has directed

Council provides direction for The City‘s strategy, plans and budgets. This is a key part of the four-year service planning and budgeting process.

Council’s approved directives for 2019-2022 provide a shared vision and priorities for The City of Calgary and Calgarians for the next four years.

Where do my taxes go?

City Council sets the annual budget needed to pay for services that benefit all Calgarians. Your property taxes support services like police, fire protection, garbage collection, transit, parks, recreation, social services and more.
