Mental health benefits and resources

The Employee benefits plan covers covers counselling sessions with a psychologist/master of social work (extended health level 2 only):  maximum of $750/year/dependant (usual and customary fees apply -$140/session for master of social work).  To make a claim or confirm what expenses are eligible, you can contact Green Shield Canada www.greenshield.ca or call 1-888-711-1119.
 
Eligible medical services can also be paid from your health spending account ($300 annual credit).  Additional credits to employees in extended  health level 1 ($1600) and dental level 1 ($900) plans.

Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)

Confidential, short-term counselling for a broad range of personal and family problems, including managing anxiety and depression, controlling substance use and resolving family conflict.
 
EFAP services are available free of charge to City employees and their eligible family members, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call Homewood Human Solutions toll-free 1-800-663-1142 or visit www.homewoodhumansolutions.ca.
 
Plan Smart Services™ have been developed to allow you to take a proactive approach to managing everyday challenges and life transitions. Expert advice and resources are available on a variety of topics, including child and eldercare support, nutritional counselling, legal and financial assistance, pre-retirement planning, and shift worker support.
