The Temporary Employment Services Agency (TESA) provides in-house agency personnel to fill diverse and challenging assignments within The City of Calgary.
How do I apply to become a TESA employee?
Applications are only accepted when postings are available. Once you have applied, and are successful, a process of testing and interviewing will take place. Only successful applicants will be notified.
What types of assignments are available and how long are the assignments?
The majority of assignments are in the administration, secretarial,, customer service, clerical, and legal administrative fields. Assignments can vary in length from one day up to three months. TESA employees will receive 1 day or up to 2 weeks notice for each new assignment.
Where are the assignments located and do I need a vehicle?
The City of Calgary has many locations that TESA employees provide support to. Most locations are accessible using Calgary Transit. All transportation, parking costs or fines are the responsibility of the TESA employee.
What are the hours of work?
Hours range from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with most shifts being 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Will I be required to work general/statutory holidays?
The following are defined as legal holidays and TESA employees are not required to work:
New Year's Day, Alberta Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, August Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, one-half (1/2) day on the working day preceding Christmas Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
How much will I be paid?
TESA offers a competitive hourly wage based on years of related experience, test results (basic office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and formal education/training. TESA employee pay is deposited automatically on a bi-weekly basis.
What deductions will I have?
Canada Pension, Employment Insurance, income tax and any voluntary deductions.
Are there benefits?
No, TESA employees are only paid for hours worked.
