Update on the 2018 One City Awards: Nomination period to open in February 2019
Nominations for the 2017 One City Awards were made through The City's two recognition websites—Calgary.ca/recognition and myCity.ca/recognition. Because we had such a strong response from employees, the process to review nominations was quite labour intensive and a better solution was sought using technology. HR is currently working with IT to add this functionality into myHRconnect where other recognition can be sent and viewed. This will delay the 2018 nomination period, and we will begin accepting nominations in February 2019.

Don't wait until February—start planning your nomination submission now
Even though the nomination period will not open until February 2019, you can still get a head start on drafting your submission. If you already have an idea or an idea comes to you while you reflect back upon the year, review the nomination guide to start planning.

Thank you for a successful 2017 One City Awards!
The City of Calgary proudly launched the new One City Awards in 2017 to recognize the outstanding work we do to make life better everyday for Calgarians and for each other. The awards are open to all City employees—any employee can nominate another, and any employee or team can be nominated—and we want to highlight anyone who has made a positive difference in the work we do.

Across the corporate, employees embraced the first ever One City Awards and submitted 275 nominations. We held a celebration event to announce the winners on March 15, 2018. You can read more about the 2017 nominations we received and who won.
