Notice of Motion: Water Fluoridation

This notice of motion asked Council to engage the University of Calgary’s Obrien Institute for Public Health to conduct an objective assessment and review of the evidence to date over the past 8 years (since fluoride was removed from Calgary’s drinking water), and do an extensive literature review. Also included is the ask to examine various questions and concerns from members of council by conducting individual interviews with each, and to enlist the university of Calgary partners such as the school of public policy as appropriate.  Council approved this Notice of Motion with amendments and have invited the O’Brien Institute for Public Health to report and present their findings to Council through the Community and Protective Services Committee no later than June 2019.
