The Feb. 16, 2016, Priorities and Finance Committee meeting included:

Update - SDAB Chair Selection Process

The Priorities and Finance Committee recommends that Council extend the timeline of the report back to Council on recommendation for continuing the appointment of a Chair of the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB) to mid¬Q2 2016. In discussion with Human Resources, it has been determined that the executive search process and review of candidates by the Selection Committee would be significantly rushed if the recommendation had to be brought by March 2016. By extending the submission of the recommendation to mid¬Q2, there will still be considerable time for succession planning and transition of knowledge from the current Chair to any potential candidate occupying the position from July 1, 2016, onwards.

Cut Red Tape Final Report

The Cut Red Tape (CRT) program has been running for a number of years with dedicated resources from the Mayor’s Office and funded through the Council Innovation Fund. To date, the successful implementation of this project has demonstrated over $14,000,000 in savings for our citizens and The City. This was the final report from the Mayor’s Office on the results of the CRT program. The program is being transitioned to the Deputy City Manager’s Office (DCMO) under the Analytics Program which is consistent with the intent of the Cut Red Tape Program. The Mayor’s Office is authorized to use Cut Red Tape’s final balance to fund projects to support the new innovation program, under Analytics Calgary group within the DCMO.
