2016 Crime Prevention Investment Plan Funding
Council approved the 2016 Crime Prevention Investment Plan Funding. Since 2005, the Crime Prevention Investment Plan has fostered the development of crime prevention strategies and strong community partnerships. Council’s approval of the recommended allocations for the 2016 CPIP initiatives will enable the identified organizations to deliver a variety of crime prevention initiatives that address crime and safety issues in Calgary.
New Ward Boundaries
Council adopted the new ward boundary scenario presented by the Returning Officer. This change will take effect on General Election day 2017 and
bring will bring ward population deviations closer to the +/- 10-15% desired in Council Policy.
Child Care Services in City of Calgary Owned Buildings
Council approved the Councillor Notice of Motion which will allow the Discretionary Use of Child Care Services in City of Calgary owned buildings. Council directed administration to prepare a report summarizing the potential to allow for all future City of Calgary buildings to include spaces that allow for 'Child Care Services' and the feasibility of allowing current City of Calgary buildings to incorporate 'Child Care Services' under Discretionary Use.
