The Nov. 28, 2016, Regular Meeting of Council included:

Livery Industry Improvements

Council approved amendments to the Livery Transport Bylaw. These amendments will provide Calgarians with more transportation choices while maintaining public safety. The City is committed to supporting continued improvement of the industry and ensuring new market entrants follow regulatory requirements to maintain the safety of citizens.

Community Standards Bylaw Review

Council approved amendments to the Community Standards Bylaw. The bylaw regulates neighbourhood nuisances, safety and liveability issues and is used to promote and strengthen community standards through voluntary compliance and enforcement. The amendments address citizen concerns related to outdoor concert bass sound levels, wood-burning fire pits, upkeep of properties and delivery of unwanted items.

Council Calendar Task Force Report

Council approved the adoption of the Traditional Council Calendar with the recommended amendments. Council directed Administration to consult with Law and look at best practices for speakers system in conducting Council Meetings and report back to the Council Calendar Task Force as soon as possible. The Task Force was established to review the Q2-Q4 Council Calendar of 2017 and provide input to Workflow and Scheduling.
