The May 30, 2016, Strategic Meeting of Council included:

Economic and Community Impacts, Investment Framework, and Tax Rate Options

Council received a presentation which provided a summary of economic scenarios, the impacts of the economy on the community and the organization, and an update of The City’s financial projections. Council approved the refined Investment Framework as the focus areas for mid-cycle adjustments. Council directed Administration to recast the refined Investment Framework to reflect council priorities in the Fiscal Plan. Council also directed Administration to report back on future tax rate and corporate reserve options, and further identify potential service impacts along with associated short and long term risks and return with a report to the June 27th Strategic Meeting of Council for approval.

Waste & Recycling Services Green Cart Program 2017-2018

Council directed Administration to include a Green Cart Program Rate of $6.50 per household per month for 2017 and 2018 as part of Action Plan 2015-2018 Mid-Cycle Adjustment process and return to Council with amendments to the Waste & Recycling Bylaw. This will enable Waste & Recycling Services to fund the Green Cart Program and establish the new service level for residential Black Cart garbage collection as committed to in Action Plan 2015-2018.
