Ward 1 News: Calgary Transit Fares 2016

Ward 1 official websiteStarting Jan. 1, 2016, Calgary Transit fares will remain at 2015 rates, with the exception of January adult monthly bus passes.

City Council voted Monday, Dec. 14 in favour of freezing all Calgary Transit fares at 2015 levels, while adult monthly passes will increase during the month of January only.
January adult monthly passes – which are already printed – will cost $103. In February, the price reverts back to the 2015 rate of $99.
During the current challenging economic times, The City of Calgary is committed to keeping taxes and transit fares as low as possible while still delivering good service.
The City understands the need to keep transit services affordable. Fares are necessary to cover increasing costs, the city’s growth and in keeping with Transit’s Customer Commitment to provide safe, reliable, helpful, informative, easy to use and clean service.
