• The unemployment rate in the Calgary Economic Region (CER) was 7.6 per cent in January, an increase of 0.8 percentage point from December. Meanwhile the national rate was 6.9 per cent, up from 6.5 per cent in January 2015.
• The average MLS sale price for Calgary in January 2016 was $439,552, rising 0.4 per cent year-over-year.
• In January 2016, the total building permit value in the city of Calgary reached $166.9 million, a 32.2 per cent decrease from $246.3 million a year ago.
