Economic Indicators from Corporate Economics
A kind reminder that that we no longer produce a PDF file for the current economic analysis. Instead, we changed it to an Excel file format, and this file will be updated bi-weekly. Please check back often.
• The unemployment rate in the Calgary Economic Region (CER) was 8.8 per cent in March, an increase of 0.3 percentage point from February. Meanwhile the national rate was 7.6 per cent, up from 7.2 per cent in March 2015.
• The average MLS sale price for Calgary in March 2016 was $455,220, dropping 0.5 per cent year-over-year.
• In March 2016, the total building permit value in the city of Calgary reached $240.6 million, a 64.7 per cent decrease from $681.2 million a year ago.
