Attention Condo Boards,
In March, Waste & Recycling Services (WRS) contacted multi-family complexes about the current recycling services The City offered to their residences. In the following letter, Recycling service at your multi-family complex, WRS indicated that with the upcoming Bylaw changes, The City would no longer collect paper and cardboard and that the complex or property management company had to arrange for the private sector to continue this service.
There are several resources available to help you find a new recycling service provider. You can find a directory of multi-family recyclers at www.greencalgary.org. For additional information and resources to help support you, please visit www.calgary.ca/multifamilyrecycling.
For those customers maintaining garbage collection service with The City, it will be the responsibility of the contract holder to ensure that materials are deposited in the correct bins. This includes paper and cardboard not being put in garbage bins. Locations which are identified to have contamination of paper and cardboard products may be, at the discretion of The City, charged a higher rate or refused service.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or at (403) 230-6662.
