Congratulations on another successful Community Cleanup held Saturday, June 17, 2017! The total garbage and recycling collected at the Councillor Ray Jones' 7th Annual Community Cleanup Day are as followings:
- Residential and Organic Waste - 140,293 Kilograms
- Electronic Recycling - 10,926 Kilograms
- Tire Recycling - TBD
- Metal Recycling - 15,100 Kilograms
- Paper Shredding - 3,828 Kilograms
- Clothing - 1,836 Kilograms
- Household Items - 2,760 Kilograms
That's a total of 144,738 Kilograms for this year's event!
To-date the Ward 5 annual cleanups have collected a grand total of 1,191,654 Kilograms!
FUN FACTS: If an Asian elephant's average weight is 4,500 Kg we have collected the equivalent of a herd of approximately 265 elephants!
I'd like to thank all the Community Associations, their volunteers and the service providers for their commitment to keeping our communities healthy, safe and vibrant. You all helped make this year another huge success!
