In partnership with the Genesis Centre, the YMCA, the Calgary Public Library, and with support from the Community Associations of Taradale, Martindale & Saddle Ridge, and the Calgary Association of Skateboard Enthusiasts, The City is proposing a neighbourhood skate park for development in 2017 at the Genesis Centre. The skate park will be located within the plaza area and will enhance the broad range of recreation opportunities already available at this site.
In development of the Skate park Amenities Strategy and identification of the eight Phase 1 sites, a gap in amenities was highlighted in the N.E. quadrant. The Genesis Centre of Community Wellness is a community hub, near to a school and hosts the YMCA and Calgary Public Library, and provides an ideal location for a N.E. community skate park.
To learn more about this project visit Calgary.ca/skateparks, or join us at the Genesis Centre and view the information boards throughout the week of April 24th in the commons.
