As many of you know, 14th Street and 90th Avenue are two very congested roadways. And this summer, there are going to be roadway improvements made to both the intersection of 14th and 90th as well as 14th and Heritage. This work is part of a new program that City Council created last year for Operational Improvement Projects. We specifically set $2Million aside each year to target congested areas to make operational improvements to existing infrastructure. And, no surprise, 14th Street is at the top of the list.
This summer, city Transportation will be adding a third turn lane from eastbound 90th Ave to northbound 14th Street. At Heritage Drive, they will add a second turn lane from Northbound 14th Street onto eastbound Heritage Drive. There will also be other improvements at that intersection to improve people getting into and out of Heritage Park without affecting the flow of 14th Street.
Both of these improvement projects will be completed in the fall of this year.
Please have a look at the two attached maps for further detail of the proposed work.
14th and 90th
14th and Heritage
I am looking forward to getting these projects completed so that we can all have the benefit of a better working 14th Street and 90th Ave.
