The City of Calgary is working to make our city more liveable by creating vibrant, healthy communities through walkable and bikeable neighborhoods. Currently, 20 Street S.W., between Langriville Drive and 20 Avenue S.W., is a signed bicycle route and has been identified to have bicycle lanes installed. Bicycle lanes can improve conditions for those who walk, bicycle or drive, while developing an important link in our transportation network.
Specifically, the project goals are to improve:
• the road design to make walking, cycling, taking transit and driving safer, more predictable and accessible for all road users
• bicycle connectivity to the surrounding neighbourhoods, businesses and key destinations like North Glenmore Park and 17 Avenue S.W.
• the liveability of 20 Street S.W. through traffic calming
Additional information on this project can be found on the City’s 20 Street S.W. bikeway website page.
