61st Avenue Greenway Corridor

Construction for the Greenway Corridor continues. Please see the proposed alternate routes map to help you avoid delays on your commute. The scope of the project has changed, corridor improvements will only take place on 61 Avenue S.W. from Macleod Trail to the LRT tracks. There will be no construction on 61 Avenue S.W. from the LRT tacks to Centre Street.


Project Timeline
Conceptual/preliminary design - Completed Spring 2015
Public Open House – April 26, 2015
Detailed design – Completed Fall 2015
Information Sessions – April 30, May 3 & 5, 2016
Construction – Anticipated for May 2016
Substantial Completion – Fall 2016
Landscaping, paving – Spring 2017


61st Avenue Pedestrian Bridge


Construction on the accompanying Pedestrian Bridge is now underway. You can expect to see work on the west side of Macleod Trail as crews begin foundation work for the new bridge.

Construction – September 2016
Completion – late 2017
