Update July 13th, 2016

Construction of the Anderson Pedestrian Overpass on Anderson Road SW near 37th Street SW is well underway, with the bridge foundations complete and retaining walls nearing completion. The main steel arch of the overpass has been delivered and is undergoing final inspection and painting.

The contractor plans to install the steel arch and concrete deck on July 23rd, from 9 pm to 6 am. As such, Anderson Road SW between 24th Street and 37th Street will be fully closed during this time. Variable Message Boards (VMBs) will be installed by Traffic crews prior to the closure so motorists are aware. Please note this installation is weather dependent and moderate or high winds may delay the date.

This might also be a great opportunity for people to watch a heavy lift right in your neighbourhood!

Located just east of the anticipated South West Ring Road, the pedestrian overpass will maintain continuity of the Greenway pathway system while providing a new link between the communities of Woodbine and Cedarbrae. The overpass is on schedule to be opened to the public in early October 2016.
