This year our blue cart recycling program celebrates its fifth year in operation. In those five years, we’ve recycled over 350,000,000 kilograms of material. That’s more than 2,300 blue whales!

We’d like to recycle another 350,000,000 kilograms of material over the next five years. Here’s how you can help us reach this goal:

  • Keep your recyclables loose and inside the cart.
  • Plastic bags and shredded paper are the only materials that should be bundled in clear plastic bags.
  • Don’t contaminate your recyclables with black bags, scrap metal, yard waste or food waste.
  • If in doubt, check it out at

You + recycling = a big difference!
