ENMAX's distribution work along 37 Street SW from
Anderson Road to 146 Avenue SW kicked off the week of February 6, 2017.
ENMAX has had some
presence in the area but have not been able to start the work until they received
permits and approvals from the Province and KGLthe contractors for the Southwest Calgary Ring Road (SWCRR) project.
What work will take place?
The work will take several months to complete and includes:
- an underground distribution line on the east side of 37 Street SW adjacent to the community of Woodbine
- an overhead distribution line at Fish Creek Park that will connect to the existing overhead distribution on the south side of the park
- two underground road crossings at 37 Street SW and underground road crossings at Anderson Road and 130 Avenue SW
- some tree or shrub removal will be required to complete the udnerground duct bank. As sections of the new underground duct bank are constructed, utility crews will begin installing the electrical cable.
The work is anticipated to be complete in summer 2017.
