Ward 11 News: Flood Mitigation Measures Assessment Engagement Opportunities

Ward 11 official website

The City is committed to making Calgary a safe, flood resilient community. The 2013 flood caused significant social and economic disruption and unprecedented damages.  The road from recovery to resiliency is a complex, long term process over many years with short, medium and long term milestones.

The City recognizes the significant scale of impact and the considerable investments needed for further flood mitigation.  To ensure we have the best suite of mitigation measures for our community, Water Resources and Calgary Growth Strategies have undertaken the Flood Mitigation Measures Assessment Project.  A key piece of this project is engaging with you to gather your input on the difference mitigation scenarios.

Engagement on flood mitigation will provide a deeper understanding of community needs and is essential to making transparent and effective decisions for Calgary’s long-term flood resiliency.
