Project: Lakeview Storm System Improvements, Phase 2 - Contract B

As you are aware,The City of Calgary, Water Services is currently completing construction of the Lakeview Storm System Improvement Project, Phase 2 (Contract B). These improvements will upgrade the neighborhood storm sewer system with the capacity to handle a 1:50 year storm event from the existing 1:2 year event capacity.

We are very pleased to let you know Water Services has allocated additional budget to this project, which will enable us to complete this project in 2013!

The final phase of this project, construction in Lakeview Village, will begin in late August or early September and be completed by mid October, 2013. The impacted streets for the construction include sections of Lakeview Drive, 34 Street, 61 Avenue, Louise Road, Lindstrom Drive, Livingstone Drive and Linden Drive (Lakeview Village).

The construction is being completed by the City’s contractor, Whissell Contracting Calgary Ltd. Whissell will provide additional notice to residences 72 hours in advance of construction start-up.

This construction involves the use of large trucks and equipment. For your safety, residents should obey detours, construction signage and use alternate routes where possible. Whissell will install construction fencing that will clearly define the construction area. The construction will also create noise and dust. The City of Calgary works with their contractors to keep disturbances to a minimum.

During construction, direct vehicle access to your residence will be limited within the construction area. Driveways may be closed periodically throughout construction. Every effort will be made to keep the construction impact to a minimum. Pedestrian access to residences will be maintained throughout the project. If you have special access needs for yourself or matters related to your residence (maintenance, deliveries, etc) the City and Whissell will work to accommodate your concerns as best as possible.

We apologize for any inconvenience our work may cause. Your continued patience and understanding are appreciated.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this project please contact 3-1-1.
