Ward 11 News: March is Community Association Awareness Month!

  • Share

This month, join the Federation of Calgary Communities in creating awareness about Community Association Membership!

Why become a member to your Community Association?
Your Community Association is your vehicle to create that close-knit feeling with your neighbours which is not always made easy in a big city. Community Association's offer opportunities, practically in your backyard, for education, recreation, and socialization!

Ward 11 Community Associations are vibrant and have a lot to offer you from preschool, teen, adult and seniors programming. Many of our Community's Halls are equipped with outdoor ice rinks, community gardens, and now, skate parks! They host fanatastic events throughout the year and succeed in building a sense of community by providing a place and reason for neighbours to gather.

Sounds good, tell me more!
Your Community Association is also an excellent conduit for having your ideas heard, and even come to fruition. This could mean working on community-based traffic calming projects like a Paint the Pavement, or helping to set up Little Free Libraries. This could also mean providing input on developments in your neighbourhood, or seeing your feedback included within the design details of a City project. You create a greater opportunity to keep on the pulse of the City.
