On December 10, 2014 the new Windsor Park Fire Station 11
officially opened. The original fire station building was built in 1957, it had reached the end of its lifecycle and modern firefighting equipment and vehicles no longer fit in the building.
The new fire station will provide emergency services to more than 14 communities in the surrounding area. Paramedics and an ambulance, with Alberta Health Services, will continue to reside in the new Fire Station 11 alongside fire crews.
As the original Fire Station 11 has reached the end of its lifecycle, it will be demolished. In the spring a new community green space will fill the demolition site.
