Ward 11 News: Recycle Your Christmas Tree

The City's Christmas Tree Recycling program will be drop-off only this year. The City will not be collecting trees door-to-door.

Recycle your real Christmas Trees by taking them to one of 16 designated drop-off locations across the city between December 26 and January 31, 2016.

The City's Christmas Tree Recycling program will turn your real Christmas tree into useful mulch!

You may drop off at all three landfill locations:

·         East Calgary Landfill* - 17 Avenue and 68 Street SE

·         Shepard Landfill* - 114 Avenue and 68 Street SE

·         Spyhill Landfill* - 69 Street and 112 Avenue NW

*Please note: Until January 7, City landfills are open Monday to Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed on Sundays. As of January 9, the landfill schedule is changing. Please check calgary.ca/landfill to confirm what days each site will be open.

In addition to the three City Landfills, there are 13 other drop-off locations available throughout the city:

·         Bowness – By the community recycling depot, 7937 43 Avenue NW

·         Confederation Park – East parking lot, 905 30 Avenue NW

·         Prairie Winds Park – South parking lot, 54 Avenue & Castleridge Blvd. NE

·         Huntington Hills Athletic Park – 7920 4 Street at Huntstrom Drive NE

·         Bottomlands Park – St. George's Drive & 7 Avenue NE

·         Marda Loop Communities Association – 3130 16 Street SW

·         Parks Compound – 10312 Sacramento Drive SW

·         North Glenmore Park – 6615 37 Street SW

·         Woodbine Athletic Park – 96 Woodfield Drive SW

·         Park 96 – 14660 Parkland Blvd. SE

·         Pop Davies/Ogden Athletic Park – Ogden Road & Millican Road SE

·         IKEA – 8000 11 Street SE (northwest corner of parking lot behind store)

·         Auburn Bay Off Leash Area – 52 Street & Auburn Bay Drive SE
