Ward 11 News: River Park, Sandy Beach, Britannia Slopes Improvement Project Spring Update

  • Share

Ward 11 official website

With the coming of spring and the crocuses in River Park, work on the next phase of the redevelopment and rehabilitation of River Park, Sandy Beach and Britannia Slopes is resuming.

Signs have been placed in the park letting you know what is coming. More detail is available:

Starting this week of April 18th , 2016,  the roadway down from 50th Ave to Sandy Beach will be closed to allow for the rebuilding of the parking lot.  It is expected that the work on the parking lot will be completed in June, and then the roadway will be reopened. There has been a lot of prep and demolition work done ahead of this to minimize the amount of time that access to the parking lot is restricted.

Have a good look at the website for more information and details to see the other work that is happening in the area, from turf restoration, restoring riparian areas and building proper river access.

I hope you can get out and enjoy the wonderful spring weather we are having!
