The City of Calgary Parks (Parks) began demolition work in River Park/Sandy Beach the week of August 5, 2014. Demolition includes activities such as stripping materials; and demolition of asphalt, curbs and railings.

Construction work will also commence in August and will include building informal trails, stairs, fencing, etc.  The first phase of construction is targeted for completion by the end of 2014. Construction signage is posted and park users are asked to please respect all park closures while construction is occurring.

On-going landscape maintenance and rehabilitation activities are planned over the next two years.

Parks is anticipating having all improvements and recommendations identified in the DDP completed by the end of 2016. For more information please visit the River Park Sandy Beach and Britannia Slopes project webpage. Questions or concerns can be directed to Parks by contacting 311.
