Ward 11 official website

On April 23rd it was announced that the communities of Chinook Park/Kelvin Grove/Eagle Ridge (CKE) and Southwood were selected for new skateparks. Construction of the skateparks will take place this summer, and be completed in the fall.

Cover of the Skateboarding Amenities Strategy document.
These two skateparks will be the first of eight that will be built over the next two years. CKE will have a skate spot built, which will be about half the size of a basketball court and have about 4 surfaces for tricks. Southwood will have a neighbourhood skatepark, which is about the size of a tennis court.

As a part of the design process for these skateparks, community members will have the opportunity to participate in design strategy meetings. These meetings allow the community to provide their ideas and feedback so that the skatepark fits the context of the community and can be used by all age groups.

I hope that you’ll join one of the design meetings, because we want your input! For more information on when and where they’re happening, please see below.
