Ward 3 official website
As a part of ATCO’s Urban Pipeline Replacement Program, ATCO will be removing approximately 8.3 km of high pressure pipeline from service. The line will be converted to reduced distribution pressures going forward. The line runs along 68th Street NE, from 16th Avenue NE to 96th Avenue NE (spanning Wards 3 and 5). To support this work, several connections to the existing distribution system will be made within Ward 3:
  • Work Area #3 as described on our website: A connection to the existing distribution system along Saddlemont Boulevard NE.
  • Work Area #4 as described on our website: A connection to the existing distribution system will take place near the corner of 68 Street NE and 96 Avenue NE (Airport Trail).

ATCO has been and will continue to work with property owners who reside near these work areas. The estimated start date is May 1, weather permitting, and will be completed by ATCO construction crews.  A few key details regarding this project are:

  • A copy of the postcard ATCO will be distributing to residences near the worksites is attached.
  • Potential impacts include construction noise during regular work hours, lane reductions along Saddlemont Boulevard, pathway detours, and reduced on-street parking.
  • Every effort will be made to ensure access to driveways and alleys. Where this cannot be maintained, notice will be given to residents in advance.
  • There will be no natural gas service interruptions for residents.
  • The estimated completion date is mid-June 2017, weather permitting.
