On July 7, 2015, the City of Calgary received an application to redevelop the Harvest Hills Golf Course lands. The City’s Planning Department is now in the process of undertaking a full review of the application to ensure all information required has been submitted.
I am very aware that there are many community members who do not favour any change to the existing golf course lands and would like me to publicly take a stand against the development; however, the Municipal Government Act states that I must attend the public hearing of Council with an open mind. To do otherwise would require me to remove myself from the discussion and vote.
I would encourage all concerned residents to voice their opinion on the proposed application by contacting the lead project manager on the file, connecting with the Northern Hills Community Association and attending any open houses that may be held such as those which were hosted by The City September 10, 11 and 14.
If you have not already done so I would encourage you visit Calgary.ca/harvesthills for more information and to sign up to receive updates on this application.
