Gifts received by the Councillor

City Council is the governing body of The City of Calgary and the custodian of its powers, both legislative and administrative. To achieve democratic accountability and transparency, it is necessary that no individual or organization influence, or perceive to influence, Council activities in exchange for gifts and benefits. The Gifts and Benefits Policy for Members of Council provides them with a clear process to report these gifts and benefits that it is common for them to receive in acting out their duties of office. Linked here is the 2013 gift registry organized by ward.

Ward Visitors List

City Council is the governing body of The City of Calgary and the custodian of its powers, both legislative and administrative. The proper operation of democratic municipal government requires that elected officials be independent, impartial and duly responsible to the public. The Ethical Conduct Policy for Members of Council establishes and promotes ethical conduct standards for Members of Council in interactions with the public, all City employees, contractors, Council staff and all Members of Council. It also outlines certain rules of conduct for Members of Council so that they may carry out their duties, powers, and functions with impartiality and dignity, recognizing that the function of Members of Council is, at all times, service to the public. As part of this policy, Members of Council are expected to disclose a quarterly list of external visitors to The City (excluding Media), with whom they, or their assistants, have met in their offices. Linked here is the 2013 visitor list for ward 4.
