Preventative maintenance with micro surfacing treatments will occur in Ward 5 for the 2015 construction season.
Over time even the best road surfaces are subject to wear and tear caused by traffic and weather. A careful examination of roadways in the ward has determined some roadways to be structurally sound but qualify for micro surfacing treatment.
Micro surfacing is the application of a special coating to the top layer of asphalt that prevents oxidization and moisture penetration. Moisture penetration is the major cause of most pot holes. This cost effective preservation treatment will slow down the degradation of the road and preserve it's service life without costly and disruptive reconstruction.
Roads that have been identified for this treatment include:
- Fallwood Way NE
- Fallswater Road NE
- Fallswater Crescent NE
- Falbury Crescent NE
- Falbury Bay NE
- Falwood Crescent NE
- Falwood Place NE
Letters have been delivered to all the affected residents/home owners. To view the map of these roads click here.
