Ward 5 News: Tree planting continues

Ward 5 official website

The City of Calgary Parks is continuing tree planting work along 32 Avenue N.E.  In the past three years The City has replaced over 155 trees and will replant another 150 this year starting in July.  The trees consist of various types and sizes to ensure species diversity and increase landscape appearance along 32 Avenue NE. The previously planted trees have begun to leaf out and are being watered and monitored given the dry spring.

To minimize the impact to businesses, visitors, and community residents, The City will conduct the work in the morning hours, starting at 7:00 a.m.

The 125 trees that were replanted along 32 Avenue NE in September 2014 consisted of the following tree species:

  • Poplar
  • Green Ash
  • Schubert Choke Cherry
  • Spruce
  • Oak Leaf Mountain Ash
  • Russian Mountain Ash
