Ward 6 official website

On January 5, The City of Calgary mailed out the 2015 Property Tax Assessment Notices. It also marked the beginning of the Customer Review Period, which ends on March 6th, 2015. The Customer Review Period provides you with the opportunity to ensure that the information contained within your 2015 assessment is accurate, and gives you the opportunity to speak with the Assessment department directly.

If you have any concerns about the information contained in your assessment notice, the assessed value of your property, or general questions about your assessment, you can contact the Assessment department in a number of ways:

403-268-2888 (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
3-1-1 (after 4:30 p.m. and on weekends)
TTY 403-268-4889

If you are having difficulties paying your property taxes there are programs in place to help. You can apply for the Tax Installment Payment Plan, which allows you the opportunity to pay your property taxes monthly instead of in a lump sum in June. If you are experiencing financial hardship you can apply for the Property Tax Assistance Program; if you qualify, you could be eligible for a credit on your property tax account. The Seniors Property Tax Deferral Program is available through the Alberta government; it allows eligible senior homeowners to defer all or part of their property taxes through a low-interest home equity loan.

Property tax bills aren’t mailed until May 23, 2015, but I recommend that you take a look at your 2015 assessment notice during the Customer Review Period.
