The City of Calgary, Water Services, will be undertaking a project to improve the storm drainage system in Christie Park. You may see some crews in the area performing preliminary work such as surveying and geotechnical drilling – this work is required to help plan for the solutions needed to improve drainage in the area. Following the preliminary work, planning will take place through the summer and construction of the drainage improvement project(s) is anticipated to begin during the second half of 2016. More details will be shared as they become available via calgary.ca, the Community Association and through mailed construction notices to impacted residents.
The study area includes the following communities:
A portion of Strathcona Park;
A portion of Glenbrook/Glendale; and
A portion of Sarcee Trail.
Three improvements were identified through this study, including:
Local improvements in Christie Park View SW;
Local improvements in Strathearn Crescent SW and improvements in Traplows & Ponds; and
A berm and ditch system running along the east side of Sarcee Trail SW.
