Over the past couple of years, Council and our partners in Administration have strived to implement a culture of constant improvement at The City of Calgary. This is the backbone of the Transforming Government initiative as well as a renewed focus on customer service and transparency across several City departments and agencies.
Calgary Parking Authority – Focus on service
One of the goals of the Calgary Parking Authority over the past two years has been to increase their focus on customer service. CPA has moved forward with several initiatives, including offering free boosting and tire inflation services in all ParkPlus zones, plug-ins at several lots and parkades, and one of their more popular programs, $5.00 Fridays. Every Friday, you can park at several participating locations from 11:00am to 6:00am the next day for only $5.00.
CPA has also recently launched a "Text to Park" initiative, which complements and builds upon the existing cell phone accounts that customers can use to remotely activate and deactivate parking sessions. To use "Text to Park", simply text your zone number to PPLUS (77587). You must have an existing cell phone account in order to use this service.
Another customer-focused resource has recently been launched that helps customers locate a parking space, activate and deactivate parking sessions and find their vehicle. The MyParking iPhone app is available in the iPhone App Store or on iTunes. Customers who do not own an iPhone can utilize the on-street occupancy and parkade availability features online to find available parking spaces in the downtown core.
