Ward 6 Open House

Thank you to everyone who dropped by to say hi to our Ward 6 Staff at our Open House on May 14th at Glamorgan Community Association! We had 21 City of Calgary departments and agencies on site to answer questions and inform Ward 6 residents about current programs, projects, and initiatives. There were also representatives from Calgary Public Library, the Federation of Calgary Communities, YYC and your local School Board Trustee Trina Hurdman. We heard questions including issues such as air traffic noise, Ring Road development, and green carts.
Our special guest Flower from Animal & Bylaw Services was there to greet attendees. If you missed the Open House, please feel free to email with any questions or concerns. Thanks for a great event.

Ward 6 President’s Meeting

Periodically, the Ward 6 office organizes a Community Association President’s Meeting to discuss Ward 6 community issues and achievements. Ward 6 is grateful to our Community Association Presidents and volunteers who do so much to make our 13 Ward 6 communities thriving places to live. From guiding plans for the LRT, advocacy on ring road issues, and formal community planning comments on an endless flow of land use and development permit applications and more, your input is an integral part of a strong community foundation. From potholes to community clean-ups, Stampede breakfasts, skating rinks to play grounds, community gardens, special events, carnivals and movie nights...THANK YOU! Your leadership of community boards and a broad range of busy committees really do impact the quality of life for our 82,000 residents!!!

Ward 6 Staff
Ward 6 Staff celebrated Eileen Badowich’s 10 year service award in May. Eileen is our Constituent Liaison and is the go-to expert on resolving resident concerns. Essentially she helps our 82,000 residents by knowing whom she must call in our 15,000 person Administration. Her skills in this gigantic service exercise are legendary at City Hall! Many of you have expressed you appreciation of her courteous, timely and effective results.
Our newest addition to the Ward 6 Team, McKensi Mills, is the Communications & Community Liaison. Her role is to work closely with Community Associations to ensure that the work we do is consistent with community priorities. She also provides relevant #Ward6yyc news and
communications to residents via community newsletters, the Ward 6 Report, and social media outlets.
Kathy is our Executive Assistant, addressing resident concerns which cross City departmental responsibilities and coordinating Ward 6 solutions with administration.  She also schedules meetings and speaking invitations with residents and Ward 6 stakeholders.
