Ward 7 News: Construction site safety

  • Share

Ward 7 Official Website

Many Ward 7 communities are undergoing redevelopment, whether it is an infill house or a larger multi-use building. As a result, many residents have questions and concerns regarding the construction sites in their neighbourhoods.

The Safety Response Unit has been working on a number of initiatives to improve the safety of construction sites within Calgary. They developed the Practical Guide for Construction Sites in Calgary, a document that outlines the responsibilities of those in the construction industry, and On-Site Construction Safety Best Practices. Construction sites that require safety fencing now must display an orange Construction Site Contact Info sign on site to help the public get in touch with the owner or contractor regarding any questions or concerns about the site

Together, these measures will help us ensure that construction sites in our neighbourhoods are safe. If you have concerns about a site, and you are not able to speak with the owner or contractor, please phone 3-1-1 so that a development inspector can investigate.
