Car2Go has brought us into the world of carsharing, cycling is increasing, Uber
is looking at Calgary, and transit ridership continues to grow. As we change
how we get around, the City of Calgary is running a variety of programs to
encourage us to explore different transportation options.

From October 5 - 30, I encourage you to give
carpooling a try. It is as easy as catching a ride with your neighbour or
co-worker. Carpooling is a simple way to save money on gas, parking, and
vehicle maintenance, as well as helps to reduce traffic congestion and
greenhouse gas emissions.

Pedestrian Safety Campaign
The City of Calgary, Calgary Police Services, and
many other partners in traffic safety are working to reduce the number of
vehicle-pedestrian collisions. Together they have launched a Pedestrian Safety Campaign to emphasize
that the safety of pedestrians is the shared responsibility of all users on our
roadways and sidewalks. With over 500 pedestrian accidents each year, it is important
that we all “Look out for each other!”
