Over the past month, my office had the pleasure of connecting with so many of you across Ward 2, from engaging with residents at our Fall Town Hall at the Ranchlands Community Association to celebrating the season at local community pumpkin events.

At yesterday’s Regular Meeting of Council (on October 27th 2026) my Notice of Motion passed (15 to 0), directing administration to make public the total amounts invoiced and paid to the Chair and Panel Members of the Bearspaw South Feeder Main Independent Review Panel that examined the 2024 feeder main break.

The City of Calgary is continuing work on the major North Calgary Water Servicing project, which will deliver a crucial 22-kilometre water feeder main and multiple support facilities to our growing communities.

As September comes to a close, we find ourselves settling back into the rhythm of school and work, accompanied by the crisp air of autumn. Lately I have been hearing from some Ward 2 communities, concerns around safety in the neighbourhood, such as a recent post in the Evanston Creekside Community group on Facebook, asking if Evanston is safe anymore. While I don’t have an answer for what safety looks like for you and your family, I wanted to share some stats, and some tips around preventing some of the most common crimes in our community.

Rocky Ridge Athletic Park opens for bookings on September 24, 2026, adding two new artificial-turf fields to Calgary’s athletic park network. Although the park is located just outside Ward 2, its proximity makes it a valuable recreational resource for many Ward 2 residents, families, teams and community organizations.

Starting October 1, 2026, Calgarians will be able to recycle more of the packaging they use every day through their blue carts and community recycling depots.

After more than a decade of community effort, Arbour Lake is finally set to score a major win for families: a brand-new playground at the Arbour Lake Residents Association (ALRA) building. Construction kicks off this month, with a grand opening targeted for October.

August was a quieter month across Ward 2. Kids were on break, council was out of session, and many of us enjoyed a slower pace. As we head into September, the rhythm is shifting: students are back in school, we’re back into the full flow of everyday life, and City Council is returning to serious work.
