Security and alarm permits and bylaws

The Calgary Police Services issues Alarm Permits to residential and commercial premises, and we are also responsible for issuing Alarm Penalty Notices and collecting associated penalties. Please see The City of Calgary’s Alarm Services Bylaw (31M95) for more information.

The Calgary Police Service recently approved a phased-in approach to revise the current Alarm Bylaw and how and when officers respond to alarm calls. For more information, please see Information for CPS Permit Holders.
