Shelter/homes for youth

Boys and Girls Club of Calgary - Avenue 15 provides homeless and runaway youth with temporary shelter and basic needs, as well as a comprehensive support system to assist them in reuniting with their families or finding alternative living arrangements.

Woods Homes - EXIT Youth Shelter provides safety and basic needs for young people without accommodation. The Youth Shelter affords them an opportunity to work with professionals to develop long-term living strategies. Young people can access the shelter through Child Welfare with or without status. Youth between the ages of 12-17 can stay at the shelter for up to 15 days.

Volunteer programs for youths

Youth Central Calgary - Youth Volunteer Corps provides volunteer opportunities for youth from the ages of 12-18. Youth sign up online at to gain access to the volunteer database.

Volunteer Calgary provides online listings for a variety of age groups looking for young people to volunteer.
