Official Agent

What is an Official Agent

Candidates may appoint an official agent under the Local Authorities Election Act. The appointment of an agent is done on the candidate's nomination papers. This must be completed before filing the nomination papers. If it becomes necessary, a candidate may appoint a replacement official agent by notifying the Returning Officer, in writing, of the new agent and contact information. Official Agents must be eligible to vote in the election.

Duties of an Official Agent

The duties of an official agent are those assigned to the agent by the candidate.
