Apply to be an election worker

We are hiring approximately 3,000 election workers to facilitate voting in the 2017 Municipal Election. All positions in the election are paid positions and the pay will vary depending on the position and type of voting station. Individuals do not have to be Canadian citizens to work the election, but they must be:

  • Eligible to work in Canada;
  • At least 18 years of age for most positions (a limited number of positions are available for youth between 16 and 18 years of age);
  • Available to attend a 1-2 hour daytime training session in September; and
  • Available to work extended hours on Election Day (October 16)

Anyone who meets these qualifications and would like to be a part of the Elections Calgary team can download and complete an application and bring it in-person at the Elections & Census Office, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Applications must be brought in-person and a short (30 minute) skills test must be taken at the time of the application submission.

The Elections & Census Office is located at 1103 – 55 Avenue N.E. Election worker positions are filled as applications are received.

Due to the expected volume of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted. Learn more about working as an election worker here.
