About the Park
Blakiston Park is a 2.6 ha community park, located in the neighbourhood of Brentwood. Updates to the park are needed to rejuvenate the park into a more vibrant, multiuse space.
Blakiston Park is an important public space around the Brentwood C-Train station area. The park is a link between shopping, transit and residential areas, however it is currently underutilized. Through the public engagement process, opportunities were identified to transform the park into a community focal point by updating its overall design. The park’s redevelopment is part of the Brentwood Station Area Redevelopment plan, created by The City of Calgary, that sets the vision for making Brentwood a more sustainable, vibrant and mixed-use urban community.
Through the stakeholder and public engagement process, a wide variety of perspectives and insights were gathered. We appreciate the meaningful feedback and discussions that helped inform the final park concept, which will enhance the community for generations to come. A detailed report outlining the engagement process and accompanying feedback is available.
