New Recreation Facilities
Site of proposed northwest recreation facility.
The City of Calgary is planning to open four new recreation facilities
in Calgary's most underserved areas. Of the four new facilities, one will be located in the northwest community of Rocky Ridge with the remaining three featured in the southeast communities of Seton, Quarry Park and Great Plains.
Public Engagement Overview
Community Advisory Groups in both the northwest and southeast have been working with The City to inform and engage community and organizational stakeholders on the development of these recreation facilities. A public engagement process occurred in the fall of 2011 seeking community input on amenities that will be included in each facility. Based on community input, each site will have amenities designed to meet the specific needs of their area.

Amenities for each facility have been determined through a combination of research and extensive stakeholder engagement. Estimated completion dates for the four facilities range from 2015 to 2018.
